Welcome! As the Bedwell General Music Teacher and Director of Bedwell's Orchestras and Choir, I am proud of the growth and accomplishments of my students. I began teaching in the Somerset Hills School District in 2001 and have worn many hats during my tenure here. I have spent several years as Orchestra Director grades 3-12, Band Director grades 3-8, BMS Jazz Band Director, Vocal Director grades 3-7, BMS General Music teacher, BHS Marching Band Director and Assistant Director, Drill Designer for the BHS Marching Band, and Bedwell General Music teacher. I continue to look forward to continuing to build pride in our Music Department.
Music is a passion of mine where the enjoyment comes from the success and pride I have in the art I create. Whether I take the role of a player, conductor, audience member or designer, I like to immerse myself in the musical moments to express the meaning and emotion of the music. As one of our district's music directors, I hope to pass this on to my students along with the ever-growing skills of a developing musician. I have found that as I continue to develop my own skills, I enjoy the art of music more because my abilities allow me to make music that is a flowing expression instead of a task to complete. I encourage that all students spend consistent, quality time practicing so that they may find the same gratification through music as I do. As with any skill, music takes time and discipline to develop, but well worth the effort.
