Jr. Woman's Club of Somerset Hills
The Jr. Woman's Club of Somerset Hills will be holding a poster contest to celebrate Arbor Day!  Students in grades 4-6 are welcome to compete in the "Trees are Terrific" themed contest.  Cash prizes will be awarded for the top three posters and winners will also get a small living tree! Remember, strategically planting trees can save you up to 25 percent on your energy bills! Plus, trees clean the air we breathe and make our communities beautiful. Photos of your poster must be uploaded to the JWC facebook page or sent via email. For contest rules , see the attached flyer.
4/16/2021 Young Musicians Scholarship Application
Music in the Somerset Hills is pleased to offer its Young Musicians Scholarship. This $1000 award is granted to two students in New Jersey who demonstrate exemplary musicianship and plan to pursue a music major in college. The deadline for receipt of materials is April 16th, and materials may be mailed to us at the address listed on the application, or submitted via email to billy@musicsh.org. 4/17/2021 Alexei Tartakovsky: virtuoso pianist
Piano virtuoso Alexei Tartakovsky is returning to Music in the Somerset Hills by popular demand and will play Beethoven's final two piano sonatas, Opus 110 and 111. 4/25/2021 Local Author Vikki Young to do Virtual Reading
Author and Bernardsville resident, Vikki Young will do a virtual reading of her timely and relevant children's book, A Girl of Color at 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 25. With a positive message of inclusion for people of all colors, Young's book speaks to children and adults, providing a starting point for a conversation about celebrating differences. Following the reading Young will discuss the book and her impetus for writing this book.  This program is recommended for families with children ages 3 and older. Now more than ever, parents need to know the facts about marijuana to help keep our kids healthy and safe. Join Community in Crisis virtually on April 27th at 7:00pm as we present Luke Niforatos from Smart Approaches to Marijuana (SAM). 4/30/2021 Summer Art Camps for ages 5-15 at The Center for Contemporary Art
Register today for Summer Art Camps at The Center for Contemporary Art in Bedminster. Each week campers ages 5-8 and 9-11 will spend the morning exploring drawing, painting, collage and mixed media projects, and pottery in our ceramics studio. In the afternoon, children ages 9-11 will explore a wide range of subjects in depth such as drawing, painting, pottery, iPad drawing and painting, cartooning, manga/anime and more. Teens ages 12 - 15 spend mornings or afternoons in intensive art camp studying a single subject. For children who live at a distance or who prefer to participate virtually, selected camps for 9-11 year olds and teens will be offered in a hybrid format via Zoom. Camps led by professional, experienced, and creative teaching artists; Curriculum is tailored to three individual age groups; Projects and themes vary weekly; Small classes, social distancing, daily sanitizing and other protocols in place and enforced to keep your child safe. The Lucia Bocchino Fund for Promising Young Artists is inviting students in Pre-K through 12th grade to take part in our annual virtual exhibition "Wonder Women: A Virtual Exhibition of Women in Our Lives that Inspire Us!" 6/28/2021 NJ Audubon 2021 Summer Nature Day Camps
Find frogs, scoop up crayfish, watch butterflies!  NJ Audubon 2021 Summer Nature Camps provide an experiential outdoor experience for children entering grades 1 through 7. Week-long nature themed day camps at our 300 acre wildlife sanctuary run from June 28 to August 27. All Federal, State, and local health guidelines will be followed to keep children and our summer camp teachers safe.

MARION T. BEDWELL SCHOOL KINDERGARTEN PAPERWORK FOR SEPTEMBER 2021
All parents/guardians of children who will be entering kindergarten in September 2021 are to pick up a registration package at the Bedwell School during the week of February 1, 2021 through February 5, 2021 between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Students must be five years of age by October 1, 2021 in order to enroll in Kindergarten for the 2021 – 2022 school year.
